Jacksonville reserve quarterback David Garrard recently expressed disappointment at the possibility that the Jags might draft a quarterback in round one of the 2003 draft.
Garrard, a second-year pro, fancies himself the long-term solution to the Jags' quarterback situation. Obviously, if the Jags draft Carson Palmer or Byron Leftwich or Kyle Boller, Garrard suddenly becomes the long-term answer -- at No. 2.
One AFC personnel exec reacted strongly to Garrard's statements. "Who in the f--k does this guy think he is? Brett Favre?" said the source.
The source also had some advice for Garrard. "Just do your job, and hope that you make the team."
The reaction within the Jaguars organization was similar. As coach Jack Del Rio said, "[W]e have a scouting position open if he's worried about how we're scouting things."
