Ok, Buffalo swaps picks with Detroit and picks up an extra 3rd round pick and our draft goes hopefully a little something like this:

Rd1.) James Hardy, WR, Indiana (6'5, 217lbs, 4.49)
Rd2.) Dustin Keller, TE, Purdue (6'2, 242lbs, 4.55)
Rd3a.) Terrell Thomas, CB, USC ( 6'1, 202lbs, 4.45)
Rd3b.) Red Bryant, DT, Texas A&M (6'4, 318lbs, 5.00)
Rd4a.) Mike McGlynn, OL, Pittsburgh (6'4, 311lbs, 5.38)
Rd4b.) Owen Schmitt, FB, WV (6'2, 247lbs, 4.73)
Rd5.) Brian Johnston, DE, Gardner-Webb (6'5, 274lbs, 4.68)
Rd6.) Chad Rinehart, OL, Northern Iowa (6'5, 315lbs, 5.25)
Rd7a.) Kerry Brown, OL, Appalachian State (6'5, 305lbs, 5.25)
Rd7b.) Curtis Johnson, DE/OLB, Clark Atlanta (6'3, 242lbs, 4.69)
Rd7c.) Dominique Barber, FS, Minnesota (6', 210lbs, 4.68)

Notes:
• I'm a hypocrite for taking a TE in rd2, I've blasted countless mock drafts for doing the same thing, so sorry in advance if that mock happened to be your mock draft! :D
• There is definately some hype surrounding Schmitt but I don't care, I still like him.
• Wouldn't mind grabbing a 2nd TE in the draft somewhere as well, I don't want Schouman, Johnson or Anderson starting for us anytime soon.

Why are we taking Hardy in Round 1?

I think that you reach for Hardy, Keller, Thomas, and Schmitt

It's not a bad mock but I think we can do better.

I think Hardy is going to be the first WR off the board, despite where everyone else has him ranked at. I don't understand the questions surrounding Hardy. The guy was very productive in college for 3 seasons and not only that he is a remarkable physical specimen. It's not often you see WR's that are 6'5 and running 4.5 40's. I disagree completely that Keller and Thomas are reaches, I could see an argument for Schmitt because you can typically find a solid FB later than the 4th but I think he is a special player. Tyvm for the response though, any input is appreciated.

That's definitly not a reach for keller, i dont think theres any way he lasts to our second pick

I made this mock about a week ago, I would still be thrilled if it played out like this. If we opted not go with Hardy, I wouldn't mind trading down and picking up Phillip Merling. Also, Red Bryant is going to be an absolute beast at stopping the run, I really hope we get him.

You may be right, could definately be wishful thinking on my part. Keller could really thrive in the right offense and I could see us using him similar to the way Philly uses Leak.

Other than "character concerns" which I think are just as relevant as those on Lynch anyways, why is everyone so Second-Round on Hardy? I'll bet ZBs he goes b/w 19 and 26.

Agree Hardy won't fall below No24. Considering his production compared to Thomas it is almost painful to compare.

Thomas has one season, Hardy 3 years of production. He's had 16 more TDs, 700+ Yds, 73 more catches despite playing a game fewer.

With such a big WR in Round1, I don't think we need Keller but would draft a more of an allrounder like Carlson in R3.

Thomas may not be there by R3 but I think Tyvon Branch will be so would take him there.

Bryant is good but is not versatile. I would take Dre Moore earlier in R2 as he can play inside and out and might allow us to play a little 3-4.

I'd swap the order of Schmitt and McGlynn. We need a battering ram like Schmitt, and McGlynn can also long snap.

In R5 I'd tab Trevor Scott as a better long range prospect.

R6 is interesting but I'd take a SLB/DE here with Haggan being suspended. I also think another big WR wouldn't go amiss, more OL depth and a QB to coach into a back up.

R1. James Hardy WR, Indiana (6ft6, 218lbs, 4.49)
R2. Dre Moore DL, Maryland (6ft4, 311lbs, 4.88)
R3a. Tyvon Branch QB Connecticut (5ft11, 204lbs, 4.31)
R3b. John Carlson TE Notre Dame (6ft5, 255lbs, 4.72)
R4a. Owen Schmitt FB, West Virginia (6ft2, 247lbs, 4.73)
R4b. Mike McGlynn OL Pittsburgh (6ft4, 311lbs, 5.36)
R5. Trevor Scott DE Buffalo (6ft5, 256lbs, 4.54)
R6. Andy Studebaker SLB Wheaton (6ft3, 251lbs 4.49)
R7a. Kyle Wright QB Miami (6ft4, 220lbs, 4.60)
R7b. Marcus Henry WR Kansas (6ft3, 210lbs, 4.50)
R7c. Robbie Powell OL Purdue (6ft5, 307lbs, 5.07)
