Roger Goodell is fully prepared to crack down again on the New England Patriots....

NEW YORK -- Roger Goodell is fully prepared to crack down again on the New England Patriots if his meeting with Matt Walsh uncovers a tape made of the St. Louis Rams' final walkthrough practice before the 2002 Super Bowl.

    Roger Goodell on ESPN Radio

On the Mike & Mike Show, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell discusses his upcoming meeting with Matt Walsh and says he will reopen Spygate and hand out more punishment to the Pats, if necessary. Listen

"Taping a walkthrough is much different from what I punished them for," the NFL commissioner said Thursday at a meeting of a group representing the Associated Press Sports Editors.
After more than two months of negotiations, lawyers for the league and Walsh, the former New England employee, finally reached agreement Wednesday on terms that will allow him to talk Goodell. They include an agreement by the Patriots not to sue Walsh and to pay his legal expenses and his airfare to New York from Hawaii, where he is now a golf pro.
Walsh's name first surfaced just before the Super Bowl, in which the Patriots were upset by the New York Giants after finishing the regular season 16-0 and winning two playoff games. Among the allegations was that the Patriots illegally taped the Rams' final walkthrough before that title game, when New England, a two-touchdown underdog, upset St. Louis 20-17.

I have this crazy feeling that Roger will review & destroy what he has and tell the golf pro he'll pay him a swiss bank account if he shuts his mouth.

Walsh worked for the Pats, so he is a loser enough to accept it as well.

-he didn't punish the pats for filming walkthroughs...

well if walsh has video of the rams walk through, that would mean the pats didn't give Goodell everything when he asked for it last year did they?

this could turn really ugly. The commissioner can't have teams covering this stuff up, when he requests the info.

if this dude isn't some crackpot... and the commish isn't going to cover it up, then look for some massive punishment to come down.

-of course for there to be massive punishment he has to admit that the pats 3 superbowl wins were fraudulent. I don't see him doing that.

what a mess... this is turning into the nfl's version of the whitesox scandal of 1919

This needs to go away, seriously. Bill B. needs to be banned and the Pats need to be banned from post season play for 4 years.

WALSH GETS ONGOING ACCESS TO HIS MATERIALS
Posted by Mike Florio on April 23, 2008, 1:27 p.m.

One of the first things we noticed (and, after reading the language seven times, began to understand) regarding the Matt Walsh agreement is that, after Walsh surrenders to the league whatever tangible evidence that he has in his possession, he’ll still have access to it.

Under paragraph 1(b) of the agreement, Walsh’s lawyer may keep one copy of each “document” that is given to the league. Also, Walsh and his lawyer have the ability to inspect on request any “tangible property” that is surrendered to the NFL.

In other words, the suspicion held by some that the league will harvest Walsh’s documents and/or videotapes and/or any other hard evidence only to destroy the materials is erroneous. Walsh will be able to keep a copy of certain things, and he will be able to retrieve and inspect certain other things that he turns over.

nobody is ever gonna destroy anything ever again not in this case anyway

Actually if he has any other tapes that the Pats have not already turned over to RG, then they are in trouble. They were suppose to turn over all tapes, meaning any games or walkthrough or anything else that they did. If Walsh has different than what the Pats turned over, then BB should be suspended for a year.....at least

not turning over this information when requested (assuming its there) bumps up the crime at least tenfold. now you have to wonder how much more is out there the cheats arent admitting to - and you have to assume theres gotta be more

stripping them of draft picks wont be enough any more. it would be pretty extreme. as impossible as it sounds they may end up stripping them of titles depending on the testimony and evidence

                no... this is ugly.

we just need some betting interests to pop into the story to ruin the credibility of the league for good.

as it is, this is closing in on a whitesox style scandal.

If there is proof that the Patsies have been cheating all along, then every title should be stripped from them and awarded to the runner up. They should also be docked their 1st round draft picks for 4 years as well as banned from any post season for 4 years. Belicheck should also be banned from the NFL. Tom brady should be awarded to the Bills and Pacman Jones and Michael Vick should be castrated during the next Super Bowl halftime show.

That should about make everything fair.

If he has what he says he has...

                          Ban BB for life-plus.

Remove Kraft as owner and ban him for life also.

Declare all player, coach, etc contracts null and void, make them all free agents, and let the new owner start from scratch with a supplemental draft similat to TB and Seatlle when they joined the league.

                          That's a start.

awarding titles to the runners up wouldnt be fair because the teams the cheats defeated were playing at a disadvantage and could have just as easily ended up the champs, especially the afcc opponent. if titles are stripped there will have to be no champions for those years
