Miami already made a huge commitment to upgrade its offense by making Michigan tackle Jake Long the No. 1 overall pick in Saturday's NFL college draft. He figures to anchor the offensive line for a decade and become a Pro Bowl fixture.

The Jets have the No. 6 overall pick and appear to have a good chance to break Dallas owner Jerry Jones' heart by selecting Arkansas running back Darren McFadden. The Cowboys have the No. 7 pick.

It would be a great fit for Buffalo if there were a tall and strong wide receiver to pick at No. 11 overall. But the draft stock of Oklahoma's Malcolm Kelly seems to be slipping by the day and the Bills might figure one of the elite cornerbacks (Leodis McKelvin of Troy, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie of Tennessee State or Mike Jenkins of South Florida) is a better value pick than Michigan State wide receiver Devin Thomas.

There is a possibility that Buffalo could package one or two of its other nine picks to move up and select a cornerback and a wide receiver in the first round. One of the cornerbacks and a wide receiver — Thomas, Kelly or Limas Sweed (Texas) — would be quite a coup.

If Buffalo doesn't make a trade and the second pick remains No. 41, there is a chance that Kelly or Sweed might still be there. If the Bills select Thomas No. 11, a decent cornerback might be left for the No. 41 pick (perhaps Virginia Tech's Brandon Flowers, Arizona's Antoine Cason or Oklahoma's Reggie Smith).
