There's GOTTA be someone who wants to trade up for Clady or Albert now before Chicago, Denver, or Detroit gets at them. Plus they would have their pick of CBs.

Personally, I still would trade down, knowing that I will still be able to get a top CB later, with all the teams needing O-line and other positions between 11 and 17

A little shocked Stewart went before Mendenhall, and I have to think KC had Albert graded way above Otah hence why they traded up.

Look for DRC to maybe go here to Arizona to combine with Antrel Rolle.

Dr. Lecter
04-26-2008, 03:47 PM
Nice pick. I like it.

I would have preferred a trade down, but McKelvin was the best choice w/o a trade down.

Ingtar33
04-26-2008, 03:47 PM

good draft by the chiefs so far.

good draft by the chiefs so far.

Two dominating lineman which is where the games are won. Very good start to their draft.

Ingtar33
04-26-2008, 03:48 PM
in my mock none of the WRs went before 20... but once they started to go, i think i had 4 or 5 go before the end of the 1st.

Dr. Lecter

LifetimeBillsFan

McKelvin may have hands of stone, but there's a reason why he was the top-rated CB. He's not the freakish athlete that DRC is, but he is close and is far more polished and NFL ready. He won't have the trouble jamming bigger WRs at the line in the NFL that DRC had at a much lower-level in college.

He won't generate the same number of turnovers as DRC (who I loved as the # 2 CB), but you need to have a CB defend more 3rd down passes in a game than you expect him to get turnovers and McKelvin won't let his man get his hands on as many passes in those situations and will get the ball back for the offense more often in that way. Both are going to be very good, but McKelvin will be ready sooner and, with experience, will keep teams from throwing his way very often.

Every third down passed defenced is a turnover. That is more important to me than int's.

he won't. it took McNair 3 or 4 years to adjust from 1-aa, and Flacco was no McNair. He's Basically Kyle Boller mixed with Rob Johnson.

Ingtar33

Dallas on the board, with a RB or WR to go.

My guess is they take Jones or Mendenhall, and take a WR at 28 (unless they have a WR rated higher then those two)

chubluv
04-26-2008, 05:01 PM
Mike Jenkins slips to 25.

Did Seattle, Houston or SD really pose a threat to take Jenkins?

Ingtar33
04-26-2008, 05:02 PM
Houston... trade down?

or will they take a QB? DT?

Dr. Lecter

Houston... trade down?

Kentawn Balmer?

Ingtar33
04-26-2008, 05:04 PM
nope. Dwayne Brown, OT.

wow... amazing reach. terrible pick.

It looks like Houston thought more OTs or RBs would be on the board when they traded back, but OT and RB ran hard in the 1st.

Classic case of a GM feeling the heat because the 1st round went different then what he expected. i bet if he had it to do all over again he'd of not traded back.

Houston made a mess of their draft.

BidsJr
04-26-2008, 05:04 PM
LT Brown?

LifetimeBillsFan
04-26-2008, 05:05 PM
NFL Network is reporting that Houston will go with D. Brown, OT, Va Tech

And they do

Philly trades a 4th rounder for Lorenzo Booker. Odd move to me, considering how deep this draft class is at RB

Ebenezer
04-26-2008, 05:08 PM
first WR right here to SD

Dr. Lecter
04-26-2008, 05:08 PM
Booker is a good RB. Good move for Philly.

LifetimeBillsFan
04-26-2008, 05:11 PM

kernowboy
04-26-2008, 05:11 PM
the way the draft is going, it seems to be coming to us

chubluv
04-26-2008, 05:12 PM
Why would we move up there are 12 picks before our next and no WR's taken yet. I know once one goes there will be a run on them. If we like 4 or 5 guys that are rated similar I think you stay put and grab the best one available.

Ingtar33
04-26-2008, 05:12 PM
Seattle needs a WR, or a TE

Keller/Davis, or trade down coming up. (since it seems no one wants one of these WRs yet)

SeatownBillsFan21
04-26-2008, 05:12 PM
Hardy 2nd RD good?

LifetimeBillsFan
04-26-2008, 05:14 PM
we should trade up???

No. With what is still on the board, I think we continue to play "chicken" here, figuring that at least one of the big WRs will fall to us or still be there close enough that it won't cost as much to trade up later as it would at this point.

LifetimeBillsFan
04-26-2008, 05:15 PM

Ingtar33
04-26-2008, 05:15 PM
there are a lot of teams at the top of the 2nd round who would jump at a WR.

I think your right unless 3 or 4 of the top WR's come off the board in a row somewhere before us.

Dr. Lecter
04-26-2008, 05:22 PM
It is getting the point it would cost the Bills their first 4th round and a 7th or 6th to move up to the 2nd pick in the 2nd round with STL. If allof the WRs are on the board, I say do it.

raphael120
04-26-2008, 05:22 PM

Hey, Ingtar. You were talking about how they never say a black D-lineman has a "high motor". Well, isn't it curious that Devin Thomas has not been invited to the Commish's room to get away from the embarrassment of sitting alone in the "green room" the way Brady Quinn was last year?
