Well it's not gonna happen.

Well the Bills are stupid if they think that they can get by with the TE's we have ont he roster...Trent is all about TE's and a productive one will help this **** of a 30th ranked offense gain respectability. I say we do what we need to to get Bennett

Meathead

cool!

nfl.com (http://www.nfl.com/draft/tracker#tab:dt-by-round|round-2) had the pick up before it was announced!

must be a delay in the broadcast. but that means they got somebody at the draft with their finger on the return key cuz that was amazing

Meathead
04-26-2008, 06:56 PM
im a little surprised with all those picks the bills havent moved up to snag some of these really good players still left that likely will be gone by their third

the good news is if they dont they still have a shot to get two good ones in round four

TigerJ
04-26-2008, 06:56 PM
Even Kell Davis or Jermichael Finley can give Buffalo a good receiving TE.

We could always convert Jason Peters back to TE.

Mad Max

We could always convert Jason Peters back to TE.

Or just loft a couple of Tackle eligible passes his way early in the season. Put a little doubt into opposing DCs.:bringit:

Ingtar33
04-26-2008, 07:04 PM
Washington actually has

Malcom Kelly, Devin Tomas, and Fred Davis.

total re-build of their offense in round 2.

I would have loved to have had that round 2 for the Bills

I think that the Bills have done pretty well so far in getting the players that they "targeted" at the positions that they needed to address. But, I also think that there have been some teams that have done extremely well in this draft as well.

LifetimeBillsFan
04-26-2008, 07:14 PM
Wow, the Jags really paid a steep price to move up to get Groves--a 5th and a 7th in addition to their own pick.

That being the case, it might be too expensive for the Bills to try to move up at this point.

LifetimeBillsFan

Tenn. takes Jason Jones, DT, E. Michigan

Why do we need to move up?

Why do we need to move up?

The Bills don't necessarily have to move up unless there is a TE that they really like and want to make sure that they get.

Martellus Bennett of Texas A&M, who may be the most well-rounded of the TEs in the draft, might be a guy worth moving up for, if they like him more than, say, Cottam or Rucker, etc.

Ingtar33
04-26-2008, 07:21 PM
Ray Rice to Balt

LifetimeBillsFan
04-26-2008, 07:21 PM
Looks like Ray Rice is going to Baltimore. He's from my area and I wish him well. Not sure he's worth a 2nd round pick, though.

Ingtar33
04-26-2008, 07:22 PM
and yes... Bennett and Rucker both might be worth moving up for.

I'd like to see Bennett in buffalo red - white and blue

LifetimeBillsFan
04-26-2008, 07:25 PM
Rice is going to surprise a lot of folks. He's a very tough runner, despite being on the small side--kind of like Marshawn Lynch.

And, he is a heck of a nice kid. His Mom "don't play"--she's a really nice person. He's got a little brother who is an undersized WR in HS.

GB goes with Brian Brohm. Good choice for them.

Ingtar33

Green Bay takes Brian Brohm

good pick, keeps him from miami.

Long and Henne...not much to put together a relationship there.

Ingtar33
04-26-2008, 07:30 PM
yep. Henne is the pick, Henne

I never liked henne. he has poor pocket awareness and iffy accuracy. but you can't argue with a 4 year starter... the longer a QB starts in college the better he tends to do in the pros.

Ebenezer

Now watch the games begin in Miami: Parcells has a history of jerking his QBs around--he did it with the Giants and with Dallas. It is going to be interesting to see what happens before things settle down.

well at least Henne and Long will be on the same page. Does this mean that MJ Manningham will be aboard as well, lol?

HEY LTDan--so how does it feel to have two Michigan players on the team and how weird is it that Henne could be passing to Ginn, lol?

There are a couple of guys who might be developmental projects--need a year before they are ready to play--that should be available later on. I could see the Bills taking one in the 5th round or later. But, I think they will be sticking with Fowler for now because they want to see if they can develop some continuity with the five starters that they have.

Well, Finley, K.Davis and Cottam are still available--as well as Rucker, who might be the most talented of all of them, but is still very raw. I'm not sold on K.Davis and Cottam, but I wouldn't be unhappy with either Finley and Rucker at this point.

Ingtar33
04-26-2008, 07:53 PM
Dan Conner to the NYG? that's what nfln seems to be speculating

Ingtar33
04-26-2008, 07:55 PM

Ingtar33

Thomas (CB) - NYG

TigerJ
04-26-2008, 07:59 PM
Cottam - injury history
K. Davis-classic underachiever
Martin Rucker-not much training as a blocker
Jermichael Finley-pretty slight for blocking, a smooth receiver.

No complete TEs left, but some have upside.

They had to with all those picks. And I am sure this will help fans forget Allen is gone.

TigerJ
04-26-2008, 08:32 PM
They had to with all those picks. And I am sure this will help fans forget Allen is gone.I suppose it was possible for KC to blow it, but you expect teams with bonus picks in the first 2 rounds to get more impact players than teams with just their regular complement of picks. I doubt KC is going to replace Jared Allen's production at DE, though hey'll be stronger up the middle if Dorsey's stress fracture heals up OK.

I'm happy with what Buffalo did.

!Papacrunk!
04-26-2008, 08:48 PM
I'm happy with our (Miami's) draft. Giving grades is absolutely pointless, outisde of entertainment value, since it takes around 3 years to evaluate. I can't wait for tomorrow and maybe there will be some trade offers for people that may want to take the 1st pick of the 2nd day.

Thumbs up to Buffalo's 1st day. How tall is Hardy, like 7'5"? If he's past those off field issues that the media has been bringing up, he has a lot of potential to be a force, especially teamed up with Evans!

chubluv
04-26-2008, 10:01 PM
I like what we did. I also think the Chiefs & Redskins did well. I cant wait to see the skins try to sign arguably 2 out the 3 best WR's and one of the best TE's.
