    Chris Ellis, DE, Va Tech

    Height: 6'4"
    Weight: 260

Ellis is more than just an edge rusher. He has had good success as a leverage player vs. the run and has the quick-twitch moves to give chase in the opposing backfield. With his lateral agility and ability to clear his feet on the move, some scouts are even analyzing him as a potential strong-side linebacker in a 3-4 alignment, thanks to his 4.56 speed.

I'm not a fan of this pick to be honest, at least night right now.

I am surprised they didnt the safety Reggie Smith. Or a Center.. or ESPECIALLY a tight end.. WTF

Pick Analysis: Ellis is an inconsistent player, who looked great at times. He lacks discipline and had untimely penalties in college, but he has ability and good size. He had 22 sacks and 36 tackles for loss in college and is fast enough to play on special teams. -- nfl.com

He's a highly rated DE, and we need help at that position. Looks like a solid pick to me.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

Re: Chris Ellis, DE, Va Tech

We needed a 4th end and it was clearly BPA. There is no center worth a 3rd round after Pollak went the Colts yesterday and clearly many think Rucker could be available later.

Chris Ellis is a decent pick but some so-called fans will never be happy.

Because you don't draft for need in the 3rd round.

this is a potential pick. Ellis only slipped to the third because he takes plays off. In terms of pure potential talent i think he might of been the best player left on the board.

                    I can't argue with it.

lets let the draft play out before we call a pick horrible... we still have picks to fill holes...

Re: Chris Ellis, DE, Va Tech

i have watched every game this kid has played in college.. every one.

he is not a scrub. this guy is a legit DE who has taken over games. he has incredible speed off the edge.. he is strong and drive the tackle into the backfield and he can stand up against the run.

but he excells at getting around the edge and killing the qb. he is similar to darell tapp who is the starter for seattle now.

the people that are ****ting on this pick have probably watched highlight films and nothing more on this kid. he is a baller.
