Overall: Johnson attended Chabot College (a California community college) out of high school, amassing 105 receptions for 1,667 yards (15.9 average) and 18 touchdowns in two seasons (2004-'05). He transferred to Kentucky in 2006, appearing in 13 games (no starts) as a junior and grabbing 12 receptions for 159 yards (13.3 average) and a touchdown. In 13 games (and just four starts) in 2007, Johnson exploded for 60 catches, 1,041 yards (17.4 average) and 13 touchdowns. Johnson is a developmental prospect who needs to work on his route running and get a little stronger before pushing for significant playing time. However, there's a lot to like about his top-end speed, initial quickness and competitiveness so he projects as a fifth round pick.

Interesting. Became the go to guy for Woodson this past year 4.5-4.6 guy. Just under 6-2 210. Clutch catches. Good hands. Not a bad stab.

there is a good link for you.

Looks like we found a descent slot receiver. I like the fact that when he was challenged by his coaches in 2005 for being lazy... how he re-dedicated himself and turned his college career around.

that takes a humble person with a lot of desire to do.

60 catches, 1043 and 13 TD's in the SEC ? What's wrong with that ? Caught the winning TD to beat LSU in OT.

Sounds like Marshawn when he talks ( N.Calif. native ) and has a profile very much like Devin Thomas. 1 year starter out of Juco, big stats.

That film was impressive.

We likey.

This is the kind of pick that I've been looking for. It can pay big or it might not, but it gives us a shot to find a player late. Nice pick.

I wouldnt be surprised to see an opening day starting trio of Evans, Hardy and Johnson... Reed and Parrish will come in in certain situations, Jenkins will be the sixth. Im sure that Parrish was signed for his return abilities and not necessarily for his role as a WR.

Definitly feeling this pick... Look at his stats from last year, he stepped up in all the big games. His games with most receptions were against LSU, Florida, Florida St. Georgia, Arkansas...

At the very least, they are a good trio for endzone plays. I'm a little surprised they chose Johnson over DJ Hall, but I think he's fine where we got him...I'd be upset if they wouldn't have taken a 2nd receiver. Especially after taking 3 CBs!!!

They are already. They know each other through Fam. First, according to Johnson.

The guy will at least be on our opening day roster, and may become a decent WR for us. I think we got great value with this pick.

honestly, i disagree. i think that roscoe is deadly in the open field and if the new OC has any brains at all, he will use the lack of attention on roscoe to get him the ball. there are not many guys in the nfl that are that small and shifty. look at what welker did for NE with the attention being drawn to moss and stallworth.. he had 100 catches and was huge for them.. and trent clearly like the short underneath stuff.

roscoe could have as big a seaon as anyone.. in my opinion.

Well I guess it all depends on Roscoe. If he can show that he will take advantage of the coverage on Evans and Hardy then he will be the #3. He has certainly shown flashes but not enough to cement him as the #3. He's going to have to win it in camp against Johnson and Reed.

Not only Roscoe but hopefully Turk has the brains to get our rb's get more involved in the passing game. If Turk has a brain teams may have to pick their poison and we can finally run pl...pla...play action. It's been so long since we've done that I can even say it anymore.

Mark my words, Roscoe will be a redzone threat once Hardy carries him over his shoulders.

Welker isn't as fragile as Roscoe is. The problem with Roscoe on underneath routes is that CB's are allowed to bump him and be much more physical with him. Roscoe only weighs like 169lbs, it is cake for these CB's to knock him around, he has a tough time even getting off the los.

This was a great pick and this kid could end up being Trent's version of Wes Welker.

Better yet - maybe he will have a Marques Colston type of impact and come out of nowhere to be a big time receiver right away.
