Hence us drafting Coners for the secondary. I also don't doubt we go after some udfa safeties as well. If we would hav egave up our 2nd then we wouldn't have Harvey which I think would have been bad.

Actually, I think the Bills were trying to move to that spot in order to select Hardy (or another WR) because they knew a run was coming (3 were chosen in the next 5 picks after NY).

The "in order to select Phillips" quote was referring to the Giants.

Agreed Sal. I would have glady given a 3rd to choose between the top WRs and it was a coup to able to do that without trading up.

no it's not, we only select dbs, even tho we actually went wr with that pick!!! the board is never wrong!!

clearly they wanted to move up to get a WR (as none had been chosen then). i think it was devin thomas, but i'll take hardy and ellis over thomas even tho i think DT will be really good.

If you would have read Coach Sal's post you would have noticed that this was already cleared up.

Am I the only one that thinks there should be a asterisk every time the 31st pick is mentioned?

*the Giants did in fact beat the Patriots in the Superbowl, but because the Patriots were caught cheating the NFL mad them forfeit their pick.*
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
                  It was all
true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can
mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

I guess I aim this primarily at Coach Sal but do you think Hardy was the first choice for the Bills? Were they moving up to take him or were they thinking they wanted M. Kelly, D Thomas or D Jackson? Just curious on what people think.

Not Kelly as he was still on the baord for the Bills at 41.

I don't see how you pass up Hardy for Thomas, his production was stellar and that is what we needed. Redzone TD's instead of Lindell chipshots.

Listening to Hardy's interview, I'd say it was him. He said Jauron told him at the combine that the Bills want him but do not think he'll be available for them in the 2nd.

Plus, the Bills history suggests that they usually choose players with decent careers vs. guys with one terrific year.
