All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
Milaukee Journal Sentinel: Bills interested in Culpepper
Milaukee Journal Sentinel: Bills interested in Culpepper
I find everything..
http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=744145 Green Bay entertained veteran free agent Daunte Culpepper last week and made him an offer, but the 31-year-old didn't bite. With the Oakland Raiders, for whom Culpepper most recently played, and the Buffalo Bills also interested, it's likely he's in no hurry to make a decision
Re: Milaukee Journal Sentinel: Bills interested in Culpepper
Im telling you. I STILL think Losman is gone before this season starts. T alent-wise, no there isnt a better Qb out there right now to back up Edwards. But what could be WORSE to the team is DIVISION.
Re: Milaukee Journal Sentinel: Bills interested in Culpepper
WGR55, was talking about this as well in the morning, I think that it would be best to get a Vet in here to help mentor TE, i dont know if i would trust Culpepper to do it, but if we do end up trading Losman we will need a backup with starter experiance, Culpepper is proally the best still available, sign him and bring in the competition

Hard to tell from out here, but I just don't think JP is a big risk of causing division at this point. His agent has already said that his boat has sailed from Buffalo, and that he doesn't want to be here anymore. That said, he really seems to do all the right things --for instance you don't see him on the newswires demanding a trade now. If we decide to keep him, I think he'll quietly play out his last season here on the bench. And I think even guys like Lee have resigned to the fact that JP isn't going to start here anymore.
I wonder if Culpepper would actually cause more of a division. He's a big armed guy who Lee would probably like to see tossing bombs...
Wake up, brush your teeth, and get ready for a day of hating the Dolphins. Or the Pats? How to choose?
Re: Milaukee Journal Sentinel: Bills interested in Culpepper
I'm sure alot of Losman coming or going depends on signing Culpepper or another vet backup. I don't see anyone willing to give up too much for a QB who hasn't played well with one year left on his contract. I don't think the Bills would just up and release him either. I think he rides it out for one more year here as a backup and goes quietly at the end of this year.
Re: Milaukee Journal Sentinel: Bills interested in Culpepper
I like the idea of signing Culpepper. If Edwards falters the Bills know that they cant go another year without going to the playoffs. Culpepper behind our line, a strong run game and the weapons we have at WR can get back to his pro-bowl days. The guy didnt just lose his talent. He got injured and since then has played on weak football teams with very few weapons and bad pass blocking, Miami and Oakland.

If this was pre-draft news, it is likely that Culpepper was a "just in case" we ended up trading JP to another team in a trade. Given that that didn't happen, it is unlikely that we part with JP. There are no teams showing interest and there is no reason to not have someone with experience should Trent go down with an injury...
I don't think there is a market for JP, which hopefully in JPs mind makes him realize he is a back-up QB in this league. If he does not cause division, I would go as far as re-signing him this off-season.
