Buffalo: The Bills are still reeling from the final two years of bumbling former president and general manager Tom Donahoe; his 2004 and 2005 drafts produced just one player expected to start in 2008: receiver Lee Evans. Donahoe was also the genius who let Pat Williams go, though Bills owner Ralph Wilson strongly wished to re-sign the Ticonderoga-class defensive tackle. Donahoe told Wilson that Williams was washed up; since being shown the door at Buffalo, Williams has been voted to two Pro Bowls. Note that after being shown the door himself in 2006, Donahoe has not worked in football.

Marshawn Lynch plays in the snow in his pajamas.

Bottom line for a web of Bills trades over the past year: Buffalo surrendered the complaining Willis McGahee and the fading Takeo Spikes for Trent Edwards, Marcus Stroud and a late draft choice. That's the kind of sharp management decision making the Bills lacked under Donahoe. But note, Buffalo has not made the playoffs since abandoning red, white and American flag blue -- not to put too fine a point on it, but the single most successful color scheme in world history -- for its current hideous livery based on a hue TMQ calls Rusting Russian Dreadnaught Aft Bulkhead Cyanic. Plus the new Bills road uniforms look like toddlers' pajamas. Please Bills, simply return to your handsome old unis. No questions will be asked.

I like the road Unis better than the home ones! Nice to see someone out there sees the inadequacy of our former GM though.

Easterbrook is a Bills fan at heart. His columns have always been straight shooting, fair, and balanced. He calls it how it is. Bellichick is a cheat, Shannahan is an ego-maniac, Donahoe is a bum.

He's the man. I love his stuff.

Half way through, feeling extreme pain at the repetitiveness of the claims, and abuse of the English language, I knew who wrote it.

As the author says, same old same old.

ya he is trying to be very slick and he is just making it incoherent. His teachers did not emphasize the error in a run-on-sentence.

Point made, and taken.

Does anyone else find it hilarious that this guy could ever claim to judge the decisions made by people who are heavily screened, have bona fides, unlimited access to data and people, and a history of being good at this, over some clown who can't put together a sentence that would pass a 100 level English class?

We should have never let AJ Smith follow John Butler to San Diego.

Donablow set this franchise back years and we still might be a year or two away because of this assclown's shoddy dealings (Loseman being the biggest blunder).

The Polian tree is more important than the Parcells Tree.

We had him. We lost him. We need to believe in what we have now, which is much better that the TD "tree."

After Butler left, there was nothing to keep Smith here. He HATED Wilson and only stayed around because of Butler.

Isn't Modrak and just about everybody else we have now from the TD era?

Is it any coincidence that in 2001 the Patriots rose to the top of AFC East thrown and the Bills began their downword spiral - perhaps Bob Kraft and Bill Belichik were somehow involved in a massive conspiracy against the Bills.

But note, Buffalo has not made the playoffs since abandoning red, white and American flag blue for their new AFL style unis.
