I noticed last year that Mcgee struggled on Kickoffs at times. often times i thought it was because he was probably tanked from playing starting CB, running up and down on defense and then being asked to return a kick immediately. He seemed to lack that extra gear on those returns.

So while people are concerned that we have too many kick return specialists, i think it's a good thing to have a guy who is fresh to return a punt or kick as opposed to a starter. Hopefully with Mckelvin being able to contribute in that capacity immediately will help the return game. And should he get the starting CB spot, hopefully, mcgee will not be the other starting CB.

I am a bit concerned that we lost all our blockers this offseason. hopefully that doesn't make our ST go straight into the crapper. but that is a different issue all together.

Agreed. WE need a good wedge guy . Our ST core players are gone and we're rebuilding it from the ground up.

that is why drafted the way we did.. we grabbed players that fill those roles. the draft i think is going to look pretty solid from year one.

NOw that we drafted Ellis, what do we do with Niel? Moorman wasn't the same when we let Schneck(sp) go.

April was using Whittle last year pretty successfully before he went down. I wonder if plans on using him again.

Once the injuries starting piling up, you could tell it was starting to hurt our kick return game as well as the rest of our ST. It looks like April reloaded in this draft so hopefully ST can come back strong.

I think we should we should have both McReturners on the field so the only way can avoid them is to kick out of McBounds.

Ya.. defending 13-14 play, 12 minute drives and then being asked to return the kick after the other team settles for the FG usually wont be too effective. Stroud should allow McGee to return to KOR TD form.

i dont think he'll get a chance to return. roscoe and mcgee are solid.

McKelvin has a chance to be in the same league as Devin Hester when it comes to returning kickoffs. I don't think the Bills can not use him in that area. I agree that having a couple top notch guys in that area can help keep both of them fresher, not only for the return game, but for playing cornerback too.

I'm not sure they are going to stop one starting CB from KO duties, just to have the other starting CB do KO duties.

I think they will have him concentrate on CB. At least for now. Not overload him. McGee is awesome back there anyways, IMO.

When we get all our peeps healthy, and add the players we seemingly drafted for STs, we will be on top again. Well, that is my prediction.

I think that you are absolutely right on this.

The team was searching desperately last preseason for a player to take some of the load off of McGee on kickoff returns - that is why Josh Scobey made the final roster. Of course, Scobey got hurt immediatly and that plan went nowhere, so they had Parrish, Jackson, and a few others returning kickoffs to spell McGee.

Also, April likes to give Roscoe Parrish a rest from time to time on his punt return duties. He had Jim Leonhard return 4 of them last season but he only had a 9 yard per return average compared to Roscoe's 16.3.

McKelvin is going to be a big addition as a return man.
