It seems that LM is already a shoe in for right cornerback based on the reports from the media outlets. That leaves the LCB spot open. I actually thought Greer outplayed Mcgee most of the time last season. I wouldn't be surprised if Greer won that other spot. Mcgee is probably better suited as the nickel so he can focus on that and return kicks. It's great Mckelvin is a good return guy, but I would hope they don't use him for that role unless they have to.

I've always thought McGee is out of place as a Cover 2 CB. I'd be happy if McKelvin and Greer can beat him out and wouldn't be surprised either.

But where would McGee go then? Just be a back up? Well then we could have him strictly for the KR.

Greer. Always thought McGee was best playing nickel.

I think McGee will start.

I think McGee matches up best in the slot against players like Welker while Greer has superior man skills on the outside. JMO.

I still think they both start to begin the season, with McKelvin returning kicks.

Agree, Yard.

and...Greer is ALMOST as good as McGee. Not quite, though. :shakeno:

McGee. He had a good year last year it just doesnt seem that way because of the overall failure of the defense as a whole.

How the heck is LM already slated to start. We haven't even seen him in a minicamp yet.

I too think the guy will be good, but lets not pencil any rookies in yet.

I don't think anyone is going into camp as a "locked in" starter. I think McGee and Greer will be penciled in but the competition will be wide open for whomever steps up.

Honestly I don't think either McGee or Greer are shoe ins for the starting CB jobs.

I predict that before the season is over that the starters will be McKelvin/James.

McGee. I don't think he gets enough credit. He played pretty solid last year. He's not a #1 CB, he's definitely more of a #2.

greer has no chance of starting. i guarantee it.

Greer is better than McGee.

McGee gets absolutely ABUSED by bigger WRs. Because he is an awesome kick returner, people seem to be fooled into thinking he is also an above-average corner.

I think they are pretty close, but I give the edge to McGee. I think he's been undervalued ever since the Lions game in 2006 when Roy Williams abused him created a perception that he always sucks.

Greer is better than McGee.

.they are both inconsistent. Greers mistakes are only shadowed by his ability to make plays but he does get bruned a lot.

Everyone improves when the defensive front 7 get QB pressure.

That said... I do like the ball skills that Greer brings over those that McGee brings. Our secondary needs more INT's. And a better front 7 should provide more opportunities for that.
