I would definitely not get an Avery jersey. As of right now I don't even own a jersey with a name. I'm getting one before the season starts and it's between Miller and Roy, with Miller getting it if he gets his extension in the off-season.

Avery might be popular to some people...who knows. I'd probably be proven as a hypocrite too.

Talking to a source in the last hour I was informed that not every door was closed on Brian Campbell returning to Buffalo, and that "although there was some very bad stuff that went down the Sabres may indeed look past it." I am of course following this one up hard. The Sabres will be competing with several teams for Soup's duties, including teams in their own division who were interested at the deadline. Ottawa and Montreal.

Did he do anything to raise his stock while playing for the Sharks? I don't think so. The Sabres know his game and they'll know how to play against him, let someone else sign him.

I'm not against re-signing him but it would have to be at a pretty good discount. They do not need to throw money at him like a crazy person. There are plenty of other defensemen available that I think would be better if they are in a money throwing type of a mood.
