Bengals not tipping hand on No. 1 choice

CINCINNATI (April 16, 2003 5:34 p.m. EDT) - All's quiet on the draft front as far as the Cincinnati Bengals are concerned. As far as they are concerned publicly, at least.

The team has given no indication whether it has made a final determination on which player it will take with the first pick of the NFL draft April 26. David Ware, agent for Kansas State cornerback Terence Newman, said he might hear from the Bengals later this week about their intentions with his client. Newman and Southern California quarterback Carson Palmer both attended the final two practices of mini-camp on Sunday, meeting team officials and sitting in on team meetings.
