    A Look At Buffalo’s 2008 Undrafteds

The Bills filled in some positional needs with nine undrafted free agents Friday. The position most heavily addressed was linebacker as Buffalo signed three. The offensive backfield also had three additions with a quarterback, running back and fullback brought into the fold.

"We've defined our numbers and we've balanced the roster moving forward," said Bills Vice President of College Scouting Tom Modrak.

Buffalo also added four players who will participate in the rookie minicamp this weekend on a tryout basis. Orchard Park native Jon Corto was a player that made the most of a three-day tryout last year as he served time on the Bills practice squad last season, and is currently on the roster.

I think Buggs and Felton have good chances to make the roster. A couple of others - including Viti - will probably make the PS.

Hewitt must have been signed because of his Alfred State connection. He was a reserve who only appeared in 2 games last season for Arkansas.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

Lets break it down & then we'll know if he(Felton) could/will make the roster..

          LT looks like
          -Peters
-Kirk Chambers-The converted Murphy. IMO he's a lock as the staff love him..
          - Nevin McCaskill- dunno anything bout him except what the interactive depth chart said...

          LG--
          --Dockery
--Ducke Peston. Saw him on the Green today,Drew Brees tourny..

          --C--
          --Fowler
--Gaddis-Last seasons PS, Was promoted to active week 11..

          ---RG---
          --Super Butler
          --Whittle

          --RT--

          ---------------------------------------------------
          -Gaddis & Estes are expendable..
--Demtrius Bell is our 7th rounder.. Most likely PS
          --Then the UDFA's
          - OG Robert Felton, Arkansas.

---So it's looking good for Felton.. Can someone who knows our roster numbers post how many we keep active, or how many an average O-LINE actives?
-Im curious to see what UDFA's make the cut besides the Army FB. & That's cause we don't appear to have a quality FB. We have freakin H-backs like Neufeld & Cisleak etc etc etc...........

I'm pretty happy with our starters. Peters/Dockery/Walker are great. I think Butler is on the rise. Thus Fowler is the only guy I'd like to see upgraded ASAP.

That said, beyond Whittle and whatever Bell/Felton turn out to be, we have very little depth.

They say that every year, yet no matter what they do it's like nothing's good enough.

Either it's a lost cause or people like to use the O-line as a scapegoat.

                  Re: A Look At Buffalo’s 2008 Undrafteds

Viti is the main one I can think of. I heard that they were going to draft him, until someone else was available at another position in the 7th round. We are seriously going back to the true FB in our offense and he seems like the perfect fit.

Felton may make it too, our OL depth is very shaky.

I hope Viti is as good as his measurables....

A player who can get this low with all that power should make a solid FB.. Question is how far can he move the sled ?

Viti is a leader at Army, a very bright guy, and you know he will give you everything he's got on every play.

I'm good with the starting five, except for Fowler and we'll just have to live with him for another year. Hopefully this Felton kid can move to center and be the long-term solution starting next year.

Our depth is either unproven or under-achieving. Chambers, Preston, etc need to prove they can actually play and contribute at this level. Whittle needs to stay healthy. Gaddis, Felton, Estes, etc need to prove they can at least make the PS or even the regular roster.

Unless someone steps up, if we get an injury along the line we're in trouble.

He has the intangibles ... like the rest of us, I just want to see how he does against some Pro DL's and LB's... A true FB last year would have helped us in many short yardage situations last year, and Turk has already ackowedge this.

Viti is the only true FB on the squad so are eggs are in the Viti basket, and I share the distaste for the converted TE logic at the position
