    Schonert on Hardy

from an AP story today ....

And not all of Hardy's touchdowns came with him merely out-jumping opponents in the end zone.
As he showed during his first day of practice, Hardy has good hands to catch the ball over the middle and is able to bend down and reach back for passes on quick outs along the sideline as well.
"He can bend for a big man," first-year offensive coordinator Turk Schonert said. "He can change direction. He can run all the routes. He's just not a guy that you tell to just run deep and throw the ball up to him. That's not what he's about."

    Re: Schonert on Hardy

"This is a great opportunity," Hardy said. "But I'm not coming in thinking I'm going to get the starting job. I want to come in and work extremely hard, like Lee Evans, sort of be his little brother, and have him guide me through this."

"My whole life has really been about pressure," Hardy said. "I like pressure. It makes me work a lot harder. And especially with 72,000 fans cheering us one, I'll do everything in my power to get Buffalo to the playoffs."

Too bad we are still low on WRs. Maybe one of the 17 CBs on this team can play at the position.

          Re: Schonert on Hardy

Hardy sounds like someone who can turn a position of weakness into a strength. He's big, fast, quick and more than just a jump-ball specialist. He sounds coachable and ready to learn. If so, he'll start early, and Reed and Parrish will make nice depth.
The character issue dropped him, but if he's truly past that, we have a potential steal. No guarantees, of course, but it sounds good so far.

He could POTENTIALLY.. and I will say that word again.. POTENTIALLY. Be a Terrell Owens type of WR on the field.

Evans, Hardy, Parrish, Reed, Steve Johnson, Jason Jones, Justin Jenkins. The Bills should find a good group of 5 out of them.

because another 5'10" WR would really help this team....

Sometimes I don't know what this FO is thinking. Maybe we could at least move George Wilson back.

There have been other receivers coming out of college about whom the same could have been said. I like what I'm hearing about Hardy, but I don't want to get drunk on the superlatives just yet. I'd rather just wait and see how training camp goes.
I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.

I'm the most reasonable poster here. If you don't agree, I'll be forced to have a hissy fit.

Sirius today was saying that if Hardy is not past his domestic issues the Bills pick will obvioulsy look very bad.

It seems like his way of "dealing with pressure" was beating on woman.

I like the fact that the Bills took a shot on a talented player with issues vs. a high character guy with a high motor. I'm just realistic that his problems may not be behind him. Time will tell.

The Bills apparently investigated Hardy and were satisfied that his problems were behind him. The only person who would know that though is Hardy himself. So there's no point in worrying about something you can't control.
