High volume season ticket sales are a good thing for several reasons, including strengthening the hue and cry for the Bills to stay in Buffalo.

single game tickets will be hard to get...better see me and clump about getting them before they go on sale to the general public.

Just goes to show that this region will support their team. Screw moving to Toronto to make money, just put a damn winning team on the field, or on paper and the fans will come

Again, the ticket sales are not the issue of support. It is luxury boxes owned by businesses. If the Bills can't sell those, it creates problems.

From a sports value perspective the price of a Bills game is cheap. Factoring in one less preseason camp to buy and one more regular season game to buy it becomes very affordable.

yeah no doubt... I just looked at season ticket prices. If I lived within a few hours it'd be a no brainer. I'm going to spend practically as much just to be able to watch them on TV this season!

Going to a Bills game is cheap, comparatively speaking. Go to any other NFL city and your paying alot more for tixs, parking, food, and beer.

Going to a regular season Sabre game costs more than the Bills game.

This is the key.......season ticket numbers will decrease next year (2009) when you must buy BOTH pre-season games

Looks like a lot of people like what they see in this team. I agree with them. It's exciting. The only thing that sucks is we most likely would have sold out of all the home games this year, and now it's in Canada. but I do understand, it's all about helping get more businesses from Canada to back the Bills and buy suites and clubs.

yup...the games in canada have helped keep down the price.

Just me personally, I know 8 different people who have gone in on season tickets this year.

I'm glad me and my buddy from High School got ours last year. Even if the team's **** it's still a fun day out.

sorry, but I disagree. If the Bills have a good season, and get into the playoffs like we all think they will....I wouldn't be surprised if they sell even more season tickets next year.

it's 2008...name me some people other than the Amish who live within 300 miles of Buffalo that have not heard of the Bills? Blackouts are only 75 miles.

I don't think that is what he meant.

Exposure in terms of popularity and demand is what he was getting at, I think.

BUT I THOUGHT PLAYING A GAME IN TORONTO WAS THE END!!!!

maybe this ralph cat has an idea what he's doing. nah, he'd be posting about doom and gloom here if he did!

you know, i live in new york city, and it is almost exactly the same price to fly to buff and back in a day (on jetblue in a comfy seat watching football and espn both ways) get some grub, tailgate, watch the game, than taking a boring train to a giants game.

buffalo is a serious value and an awesome tail gate. maybe the best (although the pack and kc are legends)

Obviously people have heard of the Bills everywhere around here. To the casual fan who doesnt go out of their way to see a game when blacked out, this puts the product right in front of them. Its simple marketing, out of sight, out of mind to the casual fan.

I think people were just more mad that it was the Dolphins game. I have since calmed down and gotten over it. I will probably get mad again watching that game but I will survive

Hey, when you borrow the Sabres model (winning = fan support)...

Ralph tends to forget we don't like to go to games to watch piss poor football. I've said this before, and I'll say it again...this team ---on paper--- hasn't looked this good since '03...but instead of aging big name vets, we have alot of young promising guys.

But this really doesn't make any sense when we have pretty much sold out every game since 2000.

Yeah, I don't think you can relate the two. The Sabres have 41 home games, it's a little harder to sell those out then only 8 for the Bills. I'm usually pretty dumbfounded when the Bills don't sell out, because with the amount of the area that is basically diehard Bills fans and the cheap ass ticket prices, putting 70,000 butts in those seats 8 times a year shouldn't be a big challenge.

Maybe if we went like 3-13 for years on end I could see it, but in the current state, not really.

Ebs etal., I've been boycotting some because of the lack of fullfulling the cash-to-cap, but if anyone could hook a brother up w some Browns tickets, that would be a bit of alright, please.

All the more reason why we should be locking up the younger players to long term deals, Evans, Crowell, Peters etc.

Maybe I should have reworded it a different way to fit better.

Winning = corportate sponsors.

Period.

Untrue. Rome is more than 75 miles and we get blacked out.

Good point! And corporate sponsors = more money to the league and in Ralph's pocket. Hence the whole Toronto thing.

Rome does get blacked out. I have a relative who lives there. Whenever I visit we have to drive over to Utica to watch the game in a bar.
