Well done! :bf1:

This Saturday Bills linebacker John DiGiorgiohttp://buffalobills.com/images/relatedicon.gif (http://buffalobills.com/news/news.jsp?news_id=6068#) will be crossing a stage to accept something he has worked very hard to earn. It's not an award for his football accomplishments. It's his college diploma as the soon-to-be Saginaw Valley State alum earned his degree in physical and health education, with a minor in psychology.
"I'm just real excited. It took me about seven years, but I'm just happy to finish and I'm just happy to have a college degree," said DiGiorgio who will be one of 904 Saginaw Valley State graduates this weekend.
An undrafted rookie free agent in 2006, DiGiorgio didn't know what to expect when he joined the Bills that spring. But he was pleasantly surprised when he found out that he had made the 53-man roster. As pleased as he was to be a professional football player DiGiorgio still had something gnawing at him that he had yet to accomplish. He had yet to earn his college degree.
"When I made the team I thought about the fact that I still hadn't graduated yet, and it's something that I really wanted to do," said DiGiorgio. "So I looked into it during my rookie season and tried to figure out what I could do to get my degree."
With only his student teaching requirement standing between him and his degree, DiGiorgio worked with Saginaw Valley State to carve out time in his professional schedule to finish his college education.
"I was real fortunate because Saginaw Valley gave me the opportunity to break my 16-week assignment for student teaching into two parts," said DiGiorgio. "So they allowed me split it up and work it into one semester and that's how I was able to graduate."

Tommy: Did you hear I finally graduated?
Richard Hayden: Yeah, and just a shade under a decade too, all right.
Tommy: You know a lot of people go to college for seven years.
Richard Hayden: I know, they're called doctors
