Thirty-three cornerbacks have been selected in the first round of the past nine NFL drafts. Eight of those were top 10 picks, with Seattle's Shawn Springs chosen the highest at No. 3 overall in 1997. Twenty-two cornerbacks (34 percent) that were selected in the first round of their respective drafts became starters. A total of 106 corners have been selected in the second and third rounds over the last nine years; 30 of those became starters. Also in that same span, 10 defensive backs have been selected in the first 10 picks of the draft -- nine corners and one safety.

It's possible there could be two corners selected in the top 10 and four overall in the first round of this year's draft.
