When NFL Europa officially folded late last spring it may not have come as a surprise to many outsiders. But to the coaches who worked in the league it was borderline shock. Adrian White was one of those coaches.

"It came as a surprise because the league had just secured a five-year contract," said White. "I had no idea that the league was going to fold. We all got caught by surprise and none of us had a chance to be proactive in looking for new work."

As defensive coordinator of the Berlin Thunder, White was suddenly out of a job. Though he had a master's degree in education to fall back on, he knew his heart was in coaching. As he had done in prior offseasons he took a coaching intern position with an NFL team. For the second straight summer he would work on Dick Jauron's staff with the Bills.
