    Would you consider a Petition?

    NFL Fans,

Did anyone ever consider starting a petition against Roger Goodell and the way he has been handling Bill Belichick and the Spygate situation?

As mentioned, Bill Belichick gets a slap on the wrist, while other players get heavy suspensions. At the minimum, I think Belichick deserves a 1 year suspension.

I'm sure some of you must have good ideas about how to spread a petition around to other fans across the country, and get a lot of names down. Final submission would go straight to Goodell's office in New York.

Anyways, just a thought. What do you all think?

I'd love to be the first to sign it - I'd sign it John Hancock style too.

I don't think your grass roots campaign would go anywhere. The NFL is too big to give a crap what the common man thinks about dishing out punishments. The only way Goodell is going to come out of this looking decent is when Specter pushes the anti-trust thing. Only then will Goodell destroy Belichick.

Someone devote their myspace to it - mine's devoted to Ron Paul and conspiracy theory vids and punk bands.

I'd still like to start a petition about the ref in New England that said "just give it to him" in front of Flutie.

Are you kidding me? They would drown in the non NE fan base, and beg us to throw them a life preserver or (NFL preserver). They'd have no choice but to crack down harder!

              I'll sign it!

You need to have sponsors get involved in it. The NFL is not going to repsond to a few thousand signatures. Who says there is not a petition already going on.

My petition here in VA went over rather well, but there's a key difference.

Politicians are elected. The NFL is a private organization. There are no consequences to the league for not listening, unless they honestly believe fans are going to stop spending money on football because of this.
