The most expensive seats, 200 Club level, are rising from $74 to $80 (an 8 percent increase). Other tickets jumping by $6 are 200 Ends ($59 to $65, 10 percent) and 100 Level Preferred ($53 to $59, 11 percent). The other three sections in the 100 Level are going up $4 per game, increases that range from 10 percent in 100 Level II ($42 to $46) to 15 percent in 100 Level IV ($27 to $31).
Fans in the highest level face an increase of $3 per game. Seats in 300 Level I are rising from $32 to $35, a 9 percent hike. Patrons in 300 Levels III and IV will see an 18 percent increase, from $17 to $20 per game.

Pricing for individual games will come later.

Escalating numbers throughout the league forced the Sabres’ hand. The salary cap is expected to rise from $50.3 million to about $56 million, the second straight $6 million jump.

The bump in ticket prices will generate more revenue for player salaries. The Sabres must spend more to retain their piece of revenue sharing.

The distribution established by the collective bargaining agreement is partly based on teams spending and earning a certain amount.

“We have to keep pace with the rest of the league or we’re going to lose our revenue sharing,” Quinn said. “It’s really that simple. And we have to be able to increase the payroll.

“You have to have, on average, the same percentage growth as the rest of the league or there’s severe reductions in [revenue sharing].”

The increase comes a month after the Sabres concluded a disappointing season by missing the playoffs.

“The flip side of it is coming off a season we had two years ago [making the Eastern Conference finals], we didn’t increase our prices in the first two rounds of the playoffs,” Quinn said. “I think if you take the tenure of our ownership on the whole, have we gouged prices? The answer is no, not at all. I’m real comfortable with it.”

Expected. Still lower than 4 years ago.

And, with the cap going up another 6 million or so, necessary.

Somebody has to pay for the all the high-priced, veteran leaders the team is trying to hang on to.

I often sell my ticket, especially for weeknight games. When the schedule comes out, let the good doctor know what games you might be interested in attending.

:shakeno: if Sabres season tickets holders decide not to renew there's still a waiting list that fans are on that couldn't get season tix in 2007 season when all the games were sold out.

They should raise the prices. That is how they make a profit. You want them to spend but don't want to contribute? That makes sense.

yeah it is pretty cool how close they came out. Apparently this camera is good for stalking. I should use it when I see a hot girl in the 100 levels and snap photos.

Exactly.

And two years being top team and one non-playoff season later and people are already hopping off the wagon. Those people really piss me off.

Now that I have experienced Sabres hockey in person, I'm on that bandwagon for good. I will definitely be renewing my mini-pack or maybe going in season tickets with Lecter if he gets extras....
