Dallas didn't even have a shot when the Red Wings got their first goal and they wasted their first six power plays. On one of them, they had a chance for a 5-on-3 advantage until Brad Winchester got called for boarding seconds after officials signaled for a delayed penalty.

Draper scored just 3:45 in, swatting at a rebound and seeing the puck squirt under Stars goalie Marty Turco. It wasn't clear whether he got his stick on the puck, but the goal withstood a video review.

The Red Wings made it 2-0 about eight minutes later. With Detroit on a power play, Dallas' Nicklas Grossman stopped the puck with his skate but couldn't find it. Datsyuk did and flicked it over Turco, who had gone sprawling when he saw the puck come off Grossman's foot.

Later in the opening period, Drake planted himself a few inches from Turco, banged a shot into the goalie and then shoved in his own rebound to make it 3-0. It grew to 4-0 only 3:11 into the second period when Zetterberg stole a pass at his blue line and charged right at Turco, getting the goalie to bite on a fake then wristing it by him from the other side.

The Stars looked listless and their fans were, too, except for a small group in the upper deck that pounded a drum and chanted "Let's go Stars!" The cry could be heard throughout the arena, not because they were so loud but because the building was so silent. That from a group that was hollering "Mar-ty! Mar-ty!" before the start, then taunted Osgood by derisively chanting his last name in the opening minutes.

Robidas scored 2:33 into the third period. Dallas showed some spunk after that, hitting hard and generating more scoring chances, but it was too little, too late.

This will be the first time since the NHL came back from the lockout that there won't be a South team or a :canada: team in the Stanley Cup Finals. 2006 Carolina vs. Edmonton & 2007 Anaheim VS Ottawa. I'm going for Pittsburgh I can't stand Detroit and I'm going to say it will go all 7 games.

Mind blower: Detroit's Chris Chelios won a Cup before Crosby and Malkin were born.
