Nobody has gone through more of an up-and-down wave since the end of the college football season than Washington State DT Rien Long, last year’s Outland Trophy winner with 13 sacks. Since declaring early for the NFL draft as a junior, Long has gone from hot stuff — being projected before the Combine as a possible top-10 pick — to afterthought; most scouts see him as a likely second-rounder now.
Long spoke with Pro Football Weekly about unmet expectations, where he will go in the draft, playing pool, learning how to put on his football pads in high school and making his DL coach get a tattoo and an earring.
