Nobody has gone through more of an up-and-down wave since the end of the college football season than Washington State DT Rien Long, last year’s Outland Trophy winner with 13 sacks. Since declaring early for the NFL draft as a junior, Long has gone from hot stuff — being projected before the Combine as a possible top-10 pick — to afterthought; most scouts see him as a likely second-rounder now.
