Sounds like Schonert's O stinks so far...

Buffalobills.com seems to be reporting nothing positive with the new Schonert offense so far. This is what happens when you introduce any new coaching staff. People better hope this wasn't a mistake.

I'm glad games are not played in May.

All the comments from the players seem to be positive.

that doesn't mean anything- no player is going to openly bash the coach to the media in May.

Hey, puppet boy said it didn't look good so I don't care what the players think. They also liked Fairchild opening up the offense in 2007 and we now how that turned out.

What does 'mean anything' in May OTA's?

The defense apparently has looked stellar...does that 'mean anything' right now?

I'd bet 'puppet-boy' didn't print it w/o Schonert's permission, either. The OC wasn't too pleased with how the offense performed after the four-day weekend.

Wow. Just when I thought no one was going to find a new reason to panic.
"'Clean up your room.', 'Stand up straight.', 'Pick up your feet.', 'Take it like a man.', 'Be nice to your sister.', 'Don't mix beer and wine, ever.'. Oh yeah, 'Don't drive on the railroad track.'"

"Eh, Phil. That's one I happen to agree with."

well, would you rather have the D look like crap now, or look good now? The fact that the D looks good now is all we can hope for at this point.

As far as what the players are saying, anything said to the media has to be taken with a grain of salt, and that's true whether it's athletes, coaches, owners, politicians, celebrities, etc. There are ramifications to publicly stating certain opinions and people who regularly deal with the media are well aware of what can and can't be said. If the Bills went through an entire practice without a completed pass, the players would STILL be saying good things about the offense to the media.

I don't think it's unusual at all, rather it's the norm, for defenses to perform better than offenses at this point in the year. Especially considering the fact that the defense is working with a base of system continuity as opposed to starting with a new guy in charge who's tweaking the basics.

We are practicing against ourselves so atleast one unit will look bad on any given play or day.

                          So far?

                          It's May.

Some news for you...the season starts in September.

BTW, another thing to consider is that the two best players on the offense are not participating.

I wonder if that might make a teeny-little, itty-bitty difference?

Wait, 6 days into the first activities (can't even really call them practices) of the year, and the offense, under a new OC who wants to change things and without the 2 best offensive players, doesn't look great going against a defense that has the same DC, lost no one and actually added some good players? The horror! Cancel the season now!
