I know speed is not everything, and is probably not the most important factor for a player at any position in football, but it sure is fun to drool over those sub 4.3 guys..

Watching players like Noel Devine and Percy Harvin is pretty awesome with their speed. Does Florida still have Jared Fason? He was a blazer.

It's physically impossible to run a 4.2 forty.

justin Gatlin ( ithink) ran a 3.9 trying out for the raiders. now that s frickin fast. Its all how you come out of the blocks. Gatlin was an olympic sprinter. That Jacoby dude can catch? How big is he?

I think Bo Jackson is believed to have the fastest one ever at 4.12.

Says he ran a 4.126 in prep school. If that's anywhere near accurate, he's a phenom.

Trendon Holliday I can vouch for, good god is that kid a burner.

The local news had a bit on him like 2-3 months ago I think it was. They actually were talking to him about the season and brought up that quote about the 4.27 time and then he laughed and said it was true. After that they showed a vid of him running the 40 after practice in 4.19

DB there was an article awhile back about the 2009 draft class being the fastest ever. I want to say on footballs future cant remember, I was doing research for the guide.

More like 6'2", 208lbs and a 4.4 forty.

I don't necessarily care how fast a guy can run, but whether a guy with speed can play. Having seen some of these guys on the football field, I can definitely say that Devine, Maclin, Harvin and CJ Spiller can play.

McKnight, Best and Mays still have a little bit to prove to me, but they are close to making that list as well.

Ford, Garvin and Holiday I will have to see considerably more of before I pass any kind of judgement on them, though.

Jahvid Best, RB, Cal, sophomore: Used sparingly as a freshman, Best once ran a 10.31 100 in high school. Missed the track season (and spring practice) recovering from a hip injury. That's pretty F'in solid.

To think FSU almost had Noel Devine and CJ Spiller... :(

And Michael Ray Garvin is fast, but he's not even a starter.
