Here are a few interconference matchups that the NFL should consider.
• Oakland Raiders vs. St. Louis Rams (Rose Bowl): Remind the people of Los Angeles what it was like to have professional football.
• New Orleans Saints vs. Anybody (L.A. Coliseum): Or you could send Reggie Bush back to L.A. to remind people that professional football never left.
• Detroit Lions vs. Pittsburgh Steelers (Mellon Arena, Pittsburgh): Bring an indoor game to an NHL arena. Downside: "The Igloo" would be the slipperiest surface for an NFL game since whatever Michael Strahan got that record sack of Brett Favre on.
• Buffalo Bills vs. Green Bay Packers (Aloha Stadium, Honolulu): In December. Come on, these fans deserve it.
• Kansas City Chiefs vs. San Francisco 49ers (Disney's Wide World of Sports complex): Where miracles happen. And need to.
• New York Giants vs. New York Jets (Giants Stadium): The ultimate neutral-site game.
• Dallas Cowboys vs. Cincinnati Bengals (Leavenworth, Kan.): Like the Giants and Jets, a home game for both teams.
• Miami Dolphins vs. New York Giants (Death Valley, Calif.): Whatever you do, don't put this game in a place where people might watch it, much less a city of 8 million where you're trying to promote the game.
