Do NFL teams have a guy that players who are in trouble can come to?

If I ran an NFL team... I would go out and hire a guy who can get players out of jams... This guy would be kept on retainer and would have complete autonomy to do whatever is necessary to protect the player, thereby protecting the team.

I'd never ask this person questions, or demand a report. But every player would have this person's phone number in their cell phone as the first number to dial in case something happens. (Car accident, DUI, Drugs Search, Beating Wife, etc).

It sounds bad... but if I'm an owner, I stop at nothing to protect my investment, and I get complete deny-ability.

I believe so, Atlanta for instance has Billy "White Shoes" Johnson who has handled a number of player issues (mainly Vick stuff that didnt make the papers). I dont think it is very highly publicized though.

Yes they do. The players name is: Common Sense.

So players have it, some don't.

Yes they do, at least they do in St. Louis.
