    What surprised Larry Johnson the most in his visits with NFL teams wasn't some of the questions he was asked. It was the question he wasn't asked:

    "Why did I speak out against coaches at Penn State?" said the Nittany Lions' running back, asking himself the question he expected to hear from NFL coaches and scouts.

    Well?

    "I'm a competitor, and I want to win," said Johnson, who called Joe Paterno's offense "too predictable" after opening-season losses to Southern California and Toledo in 2000. "And I want to be placed in a chance to win. It's just frustrating to feel you let yourself down, that I came out of a game and did not get all I could get out of that game.
