    Kelley Washington Takes Road Less Traveled

    Kelley Washington did more in one year than most people do in a lifetime.
    In the span of a year, Washington went from minor- league baseball to college backup quarterback to starting wide receiver to possible first-round pick in the NFL Draft.

    That year was 2001. Washington's promise as a top receiver at Tennessee crumbled last season when he suffered a debilitating neck injury that required surgery to fuse vertebrae.

    Despite the setback, Washington opted to enter this year's draft with two years of eligibility remaining and barely 1 1/2 years of playing experience under his belt.
