Re: Sportingnews: Ranking the AFC DE's
Originally posted by gr8slayerI could see him as a situational pass rusher but I don't think he'll ever be a full time DE for us or anyone else at the NFL level for that matter. He just wears down too easily.Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

There's a lot more to a DE than just sack totals.

I think Kelsay could even play some DT on 3rd and long situations and let Ellis play DE.

Originally posted by gr8slayerWatch our film, watch the film of other teams, compare the two, and you'll see it. As a pass rusher he leaves a lot to be desired but as a run stopper he is just as good as anyone not in a 3-4. His lateral pursuit skills are astonishing, he has the speed, he has some of the best power moves of any DE in the league, he has the strength, etc....
There's a lot more to a DE than just sack totals.
But Im not saying he's bad, Im just saying our whole line as a whole was less to be desired last year...I'm anxious to see how well they play with Stroud in there because then there is no excuse for lack of production for Schobel OR Kelsay.
