    How about Chris Simms

Rumour has it that he and Gruden are done and he wants out. How about JP for Simms?

    Why not just keep JP?

If it were up to me, I would do it! I like JP and think that given the right system he can succeed, I am not trying to start another Trent vs. JP riot but I think it would be for the best both for JP and the team to part ways! Like it or not, the coaching staff has agreed on Trent, he is our QB. The faster JP is gone the faster he can move on, the faster the team can move on, and the faster the Zone can move on.

I think I'd rather keep Losman.

          For those that aren't aware:

Chris Simms says he has no problem with the Bucs as an organization, but can "never" forgive coach Jon Gruden for the way Gruden treated him during Simms' recovery from a severed spleen. "The relationship between me and coach Gruden, it’s broken," Simms said. "And I don’t see any way it’s going to get better." Simms has hardly spoken to the media this offseason, but it's been obvious that he wants out. The Bucs are probably waiting to see if they can get something in a trade. Simms says there's a "50 percent chance" he'll report to mandatory minicamps in June.

I'd keep JP and see what happens during preseason regarding injuries etc.
            There may be better opportunities.

At some point, we must get something for him, or he must take over as the legit starter.

While that doesn't look likely now, it's not much worse than a 60-40.

Regardless of how we feel, Trent could pull a "Big Brown Belmont" this year.

If we keep him and let his contract run out, he walks and we get nothing in return. I admit that it would be nice to have him as a decent backup if Trent goes down but I think we really need to get something for him.

He should be on Oprah...not an NFL team.

                  Chris Simms sucks.

I'd rather just stick it out with JP this year. We'll lose him for nothing, but his value is low anyway and backup QB's aren't that hard to find.

I'd do it in a second.

Fresh start for both Simms and JP, and they both need it.

If Edwards doesn't falter, we'll be looking for a vet back-up sooner or later anyway to replace JP on the roster, and if that ends up being next off-season we can cut or trade Simms just as easily as we could JP.

I like Simms a lot. Which is why I don't want him here (I think a lot of others would like what they see from him as well). No more QB controversies are need in Buffalo for the next century or so.

Tampa has 7 QBs. They can't go to camp with all of them, so there'll be a few to choose from should we trade JP to another team (as a starter maybe) and need to find a backup somewhere.

I still think that Culpepper is best option for back up QB at this point, even over the current incumbent.

I also like Quinn Gray since he is available. Simms has had way too many injury issues, even more than JP I believe so not sure about him.
