D Brooks Orpik, who can be an unrestricted free agent July 1, has told people he won't re-sign with the Penguins if Therrien is still the coach, according to the Sun.
That's interesting news for us, I also wouldn't mind throwing cash at Malone and/or Hall either from PIT two tough gritty wingers. Malone would cost a pretty penny but Hall may be a good option for us. Thoughts?

Orpik has climbed my list of free agents I would like to have signed in Buffalo. He was already a top two or three d-man when the regular season ended but after the Cup run I moved him up to the top.

Orpik for sure. Forget about Malone and Hall. We have enough forwards.

Yeah we have enough power type forwards that know how to hit.

some idiotic team will pay Orpik 4 to 5 million a season. It won't be us.
The only chance we have is if he comes to us for 3 to 4 because he wants to play near his hometown and with his brother.

I originally thought no more than $3 million per, but I would now be williing to go $3.5 million or slightly more per season for Orpik. I like Malone but I suspect he wants more than we could pay.
