    Ron Wilson new Leafs coach

Ron Wilson becomes new coach of Toronto Maple Leafs
TORONTO (AP) - Ron Wilson was introduced Tuesday as the new coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs, less than a month after he was fired by the San Jose Sharks.
The 53-year-old Wilson appeared at a Tuesday news conference at Toronto's Air Canada Centre after signing a four-year deal.
Wilson was fired May 12 by San Jose after the Sharks lost to the Dallas Stars in the second round of the playoffs. He succeeds Paul Maurice, who was fired by Toronto last month after missing the playoffs in back-to-back seasons.

I don't know a whole lot about Wilson except the name. I know he did well in San Jose till the playoffs started. I would think this is a good move for the Leafs but I don't know a whole lot about the inner workings of that team either and from what I can see it looks like a big giant mess.

Ron Wilson was the coach for the Washington Capitals that beat the Sabres in 6 games in the 1998 Conference Finals (Joe Juneau wraparound goal beat the Sabres in OT. The Capitals went to the Cup only to get swept by Detroit 4-0 this was the Capitals only appearance in the cup finals. After 3 losing seasons he was fired from coaching the Capitals.

Actually, I think that is a good fit for him. He's not a push over coach and will be able to improve The Leafs.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I don't repeat myself.

This will push the Leafs from mediocrity into ... less mediocrity. Until the postseason, of course. Then they move down to suck.

don't worry- Lindy will keep him in line like he did with Brian Murray two years ago.

Congrats, Wilson- you now have a high-profile, high pressure job working under a bunch of idiots who almost guarantee that you can't succeed. Good Luck!
