Am watching the Toronto Philly series (ESPN2) and on the bottom saw a ticker that says Bills sign Gary to a two year contract.

If this is true, how deep is at RB? We just extended Henry and Morris, and now Gary. Is Joe Burns going back to the practice squad?

i am truely surprised by this move.. it is widely reported that the contract was pulled from the table.. obviously that was not true, but i assumed that it was..

i just cant see td pulling a contract, then throwing it back out there.. i have to say that i am a little disappointed, because i really wanted Lee Suggs with our second or third rounder, but that is just because he is alumni.. and i know how good he will be..

but gary is a good signing.. nice work td.. way to give the fishes a little food to eat until the draft..

Maybe he did. Just part of the poker game. TD strikes again. :D BTW they did mention during the draft press conference that they will get a qb either a vet or draft. I wouldn't be surprised anymore if TD got Vick to back up Drew :snicker2:

I just can't help but truely believe that Mcgahee is permanent damaged goods. That was "The Ugliest" knee hit I have ever seen. I thought his femur was snapped in half and was flopping around just held together by skin. Knowing it was the knee joint, made it worse. He would have to be really lucky to come back from that. Does any team feel lucky (money)...Well do ya punk? sorry, Dirty Harry fan.

Maybe it was Gary who came groveling back to Donahoe? I wouldn't be surprised, he wants to play with a winner.

Agreed, was in a bar with some friends when i saw that hit. Was absolutley sickening hit. Seeing his leg shake about was horrible.

BUT! I do have faith, I think with his previous quality...........I dont know I think he can come back from it. Stranger things have happened.

I can't wait for the Marine that lives down the street from me who is a Broncos fan - who was oh-so-high on him a couple years ago to start trashing him and saying that he's a has been.

Oh well that would be typical of him. I guarantee you he was heartbroken when he heard that he was let go.

He's the most two-faced, lying $#!tbag I've ever met. If it wasn't for me, he probably wouldn't have lost his virginity his sophomore year.

Gary simply wants a Superbowl ring thats why he signed can you blame him?

Fantastic signing...altho I did think that Gary was no longer an option for us, but it's a good thing TD keeps the rest of the world in the dark. Either way, great depth for us.

I agree with you here... I'll tell you I'm extremely skeptical about this one. I injured my knee horribly when I was 18... the three ligaments he damaged were on the list of things done to mine... now I know knee ops have progressed a long way in the last 12-13 years, but it was questionable that I'd keep my lower leg, let alone walk.

It took 4 surgeries spaced out over 6 months to rebuild it, and another 6 months to be able to run without a brace. That was a whole year. Going into the injury I was a 4.4ish runner, coming out of it (and 10 pounds lighter) I was a 4.8-5.0 runner. Furthermore, I still have problems with it (I can feel the weather change), and it isn't stable enough to let me ice skate (I used to play hockey).

Its one thing to be able to run sprints in a straight line, it’s another all together to be able to cut on astro turf with a 300lb DL draped on your back. He’ll probably be drafted by the pats or raiders in the 1st round, but from personal experience I’d give him a 20% chance of being able to recover fully and have a long career in the NFL.

gary has had 2? knee operations? or one torn acl and one broken leg?

the only thing that worries me is he looked completely ineffective behind the same line that portis looked ridiculous behind last year..

he does have an average of 4.2 yards per carry for his career.

RB Olandis Gary agrees to terms with Bills
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Associated Press
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) _ Running back Olandis Gary is leaving a crowded backfield in Denver, agreeing to terms on a contract with with the Buffalo Bills.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. A telephone call to Frank Murtha, Gary's agent, was not returned.

Gary, 27, isn't likely to be a starter for the Bills either. He is expected to back up Travis Henry after spending last season as a second-stringer behind Clinton Portis.

Gary's best pro season came in 1999 when, as a rookie, he finished with 1,159 yards rushing and seven touchdowns. He tore ligaments in his right knee in 2000 and broke his left leg late in November 2001.

Last season, Gary rushed 37 times for 147 yards and one touchdown and caught 18 passes for 148 yards. He figured to be a third option, at best, in Denver this season behind Portis, the 2002 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, and Mike Anderson, who won that honor in 2000.
