I'll go with failure to yield the right of way. 1 year ACD where if he keeps his nose clean this disappears like it never happened, justice served.

      What is ACD?
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

        Re: Marshawn's sentence???

ACD I think is only for juveniles. Basically, it means if you don't get in trouble the record is expunged.

I think he'll get 40-80 hours community service, a fine and that is it. This is only a misdemeanor, that is why I can't believe Marshawn didn't come out earlier and say I screwed up, it was a mistake, I slowed down and thought she was okay. The question is, does he get suspended a game by the NFL. The comish there stated anyone who would get in trouble after June 1st would face stiffer penalties. I'm just glad this is over.

Basically the case is adjourned and if he is a good for 6 or 12 months, the charges are dismissed.

And it is used for more than just juveniles.

Oh yeah, sort of like the Prayer for Judgment Continued, which my lawyer used to keep my second last speeding ticket off of my record. You can only use one every three years, however.

My last ticket was reduced to some sort of equipment violation, which also kept me from getting anymore points.

Maybe I should just slow down.

Lecter, don't you need an absolutely squeaky clean record to get an ACD? Everytime I've heard it used it was in conjunction with a juvenile getting trouble for the first time.

Regardless, I hope he takes this a learning experience and stop putting himself in positions where stuff like this can happen.

I think Skooby may be talking about a commuted sentence. They do it in VA all the time. For example, if someone has a perfect driving record then gets a DUI where no one got hurt, the judge will hit them with a fine, community service, and 6 months of jail time, but the 6 months of jail time will be commuted as long as they stay clean for the next year.

A conditional discharge upon the completion of 100hrs community service.

At least in NYS, I think it can be used elswhere too. I had a traffic ticketa few months ago and there were a number of cases (usually noise ordinances and things like that) that ended up ACD. I think they were not all kids.

Regardless, I think Lynch does have a squeaky clean record in NYS.

I wouldn't be surprised if he had a modest fine and some community service to do.
