Survivor Evans will get some luxuries this year

It’s not that Buffalo Bills wide receiver Lee Evans disappointed in 2007; it’s that he was amazing the year before under similarly rotten conditions. His production last campaign can only be considered substandard when compared to what he did basically on his own the previous season, just as today’s episodes of “The Simpsons” are inadequate merely against the high standard the show set for itself a decade ago. The difference is that, unlike the sadly faded cartoon, Evans not only has the legitimate excuse of lousy circumstances but also possesses the capacity to return to glory.
Regardless of the environmental factors, the Wisconsin product’s falloff in one season from 82 to 55 receptions and from 1,292 to 849 yards was sad to watch. Both outputs are around two-thirds of what they were during his fine 2006, and that’s obviously a precipitous decline, but it’s exactly what to be expected from a team with no other true receiving threats: It was simply a byproduct of him being an honor student stuck in a study hall with detention hall regulars............
