Contract talks between the Avalanche and Jose Theodore's agent have reached an impasse and the Denver Post reports the goaltender will be testing the market.
"I would say we are going to July 1," Theodore's agent, Don Meehan, told the paper. "There's a chance we could still negotiate with (the Avalanche) after that, but right now it's looking like we're going to July 1."
Theodore, 31, made $6 million last season and could see his salary cut in half via free agency.
