All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!

What happned with the FBs so far?

Barnes, Evans, Viti? Who is getting the most reps? Most 1st team reps? Who looks good? How are they being used? Does anyone know anything?

Speculation, opinion, background info, predictions, links, personal observations, what ever. What do yall got so far?

It's like the forgotten position. Why don't we just field three guards or something?

The Bills' Depth Chart lists them Barnes/Evans/Viti. I think, from the few FB references in Chris Brown's blog, that their reps in the OTAs and minicamp went in that order, although both Barnes and Viti missed some time, at least in the OTAs.

Barnes, the veteran, appears to be the nominal starter for now.

Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

Summary, Barnes is the favorite to win the job. He is catching the ball well and they know he can block.

Viti looks good catching and is showing he is smart...but there are questions whether he can pick up the blitz. But he definitely looks the part and has the right attitude.

Evans...is working on his long snapping. translation = long shot unless he can become a specialist

Only because the position is hard as heck to evaluate until the pads come on. Once TC starts, I think we'll be hearing a lot more.

I'm thinking that the Schoumanator is going to be our starting FB, at least on paper - even though his role may be more of a hybrid TE/RB type like Chris Cooley.

I really hope Barnes doesn't start. I'd rather throw Viti in the fire than start a reject from the Fins and Jets. That being said, I really know nothing about either player so what can I judge?
