Re: Sabres sign Lalime
The funny thing is that the Sabres took him away from Ottawa.
General manager Dale Tallon had also considered signing last year’s backup to Khabibulin, Patrick Lalime, but Lalime appears on the brink of signing with the Ottawa Senators.

(Although I can't remember us having a minor league goalie as a backup for at least the last 10 years.....)

Re: Sabres sign Lalime
His stats are pretty scary- 2.82 GAA, .897 Save percentage. I've never seen him play, but stat-wise he doesn't seem like much of an upgrade

I remember Thibeau sounded good last year too so...we'll see..
That's the thing that scares me. Thibault sounded like a good idea last year. He was the veteran that we needed. However once we saw him on the ice, we realized that he had nothing left. I hope that Lalime is not the same way.
