    Dan Boyle?

Tampa is shopping him. The Sabres have been mentioned to be interested.

Would you be happy with this?

Of course I doubt the Sabres pull the trigger on this one.

His contract is for 6.66 million for each of the next six years.

depends on what they want in return. I like this better than Orpik even at that price. He is locked in and ready to go.

Boyle is Campbell, they are alot alike, if we wanted an offensive minded defensman they should have signed soupy for that money last year, i think it would be a good move for us, but a stupid one, that would confuse the fan base

I doubt they do the deal as well but I keep hearing it and Ek put it as an e4 that a deal is imminent and Buffalo is one of the five teams listed. I think this deal would effectively quiet people down till the season starts. If they move Max in this deal I am all for it.

                How much older is Campbell?

Boyle is actually about 3 years older than Campbell.

then I doubt the Sabres will make the trade. I don't think they want to hang out to players that are going to be 32+ during the duration of a deal.

Didn't say it would happen. Just let you know a rumor that is out there.

I guess I should start complaining to fit in....

Honestly Boyle is a better Scoring Defensemen. Not sure about his defensive game and puck moving skills however

Wait, he'll cost money? Well the Sabres won't do it. I think we only accept people who want to play for free.

In a dream scenario (and I mean a huge dream) it would be great if Darcy could dish off like two forwards that will be UFA's next season (Max, Kotalik, Connolly) and pull in Boyle. They have a surplus of forwards and a need for defense. Plus the combination of two of those expiring contracts almost equal what Boyle is making and therefore would barely even affect the cap. But....this isn't a video game and things don't work that way. Time will tell....
