Assuming the current starters are in place (including Hardy as #2 WR). What is your first offensive play call against the seahawks?

Me? Probably Lynch to the wide side of the field on a pitch sweep.

I was going to say Lynch on a pitch behind Peters. LOL.

Its a two TE set with Royal on the left and Schouman on the right, One back and Evans and Reed on the field. The ball is snapped and everyone zone blocks left and its a playaction to Lynch. Schouman disengages his block and does a twist route out of it. Edwards rolls to the right, Schouman catches the ball two yards down field but rumbles for a 8-10 yard gain.

but i thought evans won't catch a pass from trent because he hates him and wants JP?

So no passes to evans this year, even though he's totally worth a big pay day.

Statue of Liberty, thrown back to the rolled out QB, for a flea flicker.

Agreed. A safe, short pass completion, a la JP's first play against the Texans in 05'.

It's the first play of the season for the Seahawks too, so I opt to go the scramble route where Trent is flushed from the pocket and completes a comeback route to Hardy for 24 yards down the right sideline!! The result is crossing midfield for the first time in '08!!! Go Bills!!

run up the middle, no gain.

That's what I was going to say. Or a QB draw up the middle for 1 yard.

it will probably be a run to the left, a simple inside the tackle run.

Coaches like to run first when a QB might be emotionally jacked up (as emotionally charged QBs tend to throw high).

If i was calling it though, I'd probably spread the field, and pull an end around to the right, with reed running it, after the fake inside to the left to lynch.

The defense will be jacked up too, and probably will over persue.

It's a good way to get 3 positives. 1) you settle trent down. 2) you teach the d to not over pursue the "obvious" inside bread and butter run (as we'll probably be running behind peters and Dockery all game). 3) you just showed the DC you'll not be as predictable as we were last year... gaining the initiative and likely back him off a bit. I'd probably drive the point home with a flee flicker on down 2.

nothing gives a DC fits then an OC doing unpredictable things.

These two plays will keep the safeties and LB'ers honest, giving the offense a chance to run the ball with a little more space for a while. and trent some time to settle in.

PS: i'd also have the team go on 1, as the o-line will likely be jacked too, i wouldn't want to start on a false start.

Bomb it! :snicker:

I'm thinking a combination of the two. Play action pass to Evans that goes for 75 yds and a TD.

At least that's what I imagine happening on the opening offensive play. It will probably be an incomplete pass at Royal's feet.

Losman is starting RB. TE does the option to Losman, who heaves it 10 yards over Evans 50 yards down the field.

I miss Mularkey :(

Edwards drops back and throws a lateral to Marshawn and Marshawn launces a perfect strike to Hardy for the TD!!!!!
