    Holcomb Retires

Former Vikings, Browns, and Bills QB Kelly Holcomb has decided to retire.
Holcomb, 35, has latched on as his alma mater Middle Tennessee State's in-game sideline reporter. He played seven seasons in the NFL and finished his career with a 39:38 TD to INT ratio. Though clearly inferior physically, Holcomb may best be remembered for often outplaying former No. 1 overall pick Tim Couch in practice and games with the Browns.

Indeed. The Holcomator had a great career regardless.

He was a consummate professional and great teamate. I wish he would have been in a situation where he could have started consistently because he would have put up some good numbers.

He realized he couldn't even throw the 3 yard dump pass anymore.

All kidding aside, he was a nice guy.

We just might have been a playoff team in 2005 and 2006 if he started every game.

Well just goes to show you that a guy who was 2 years away from retirement could outplay JP Losman. Maybe JP is 2 years away from retirement too.

I have nothing personal aginst the guy but I will never miss the 3 yard passes on 3rd and 10.

I can definitely see him getting into coaching down the road and working his way up the ranks ala Jason Garret.

I'm sure he'll be successful in whatever venture he takes on.
