Not a good move for a guy with one foot out the door already.

It's was the draft month hype. Guys who were unspectacular in college but suddenly shot up the boards in a month because of their combine numbers or agents hyping them up. Same thing with Alex Smith and Troy Williamson and Vernon Davis....

No wonder he sucks, hard to be good when you're hopped up on Coke.

vernon davis was a great college player.. he just ran faster than anyone expected at the combine.. i dont think he falls into that catagory though.

Forget Jones - even before he got arrested I would still take Chris Henry.

Jones was much worse because he was projecting to a new position. Not only was a reach, but he had no track record at the position he was drafted (outside of playing some WR in pre-draft all-star games).

I get the impression that Jones lacks any real desire for the game, no matter his physical gifts. He was more into basketball in college, and doesn't seem to care.

The ultimate boom or bust pick. He was a fantastic athlete at Arkansas. But no one really knew how his game would translate to the pros. He played in an option type scheme in college, one where his skills wouldn't effectively translate to the pro game. But no body could deny the guy was an athletic marvel. Maybe if he wasn't strung out on drugs, he could have made an effective transition. Chances are, we'll never know.
