Re: Lecavalier signs "lifetime contract"
Good move for years 1-6 or so. By the end of the contract, they'll be paying almost $8 million a year for a 40 year old player. That's way too long.

Re: Lecavalier signs "lifetime contract"
btw it's embarrassing to this FO that they're paying only $600k per year more for Lecavelier than we are for Vanek.

Re: Lecavalier signs "lifetime contract"
Lecavalier certainly puts up great numbers, but him and St. Louis are about 80% of the offense on that team too... so it's easy to get fooled by that.
Not saying I wouldn't love to have him or anything, but I think Vanek can be where he is in the near future.

Giving any player $85 million with a right of first refusal over any move (even waivers) is 10X insane than the Vanek deal.Originally posted by mysticsotoLecter is right in everything he said.

They are allowed to front load (or back load) the deals if they want, but are limited as to by how much they can do so.Originally posted by mysticsotoLecter is right in everything he said.
