The Buffalo Sabres today announced there has been a 97 percent renewal rate on season tickets from last year.
Additionally, the team also announced they will make available up to 500 season tickets for the upcoming 2008-2009 campaign to members of their Blue and Gold Club.
The Blue and Gold Club was created in 2007 as a priority "waiting list" for perspective buyers to accommodate the continuing interest fans have in obtaining Buffalo Sabres season tickets. Currently there are over 1,000 members on the waiting list, accounting for more than 2,500 seats.
In addition, the National Hockey League will announce the 2008-2009 regular season schedule at noon on Thursday, July 17. This season, the NHL has revised its scheduling format. Each team will continue to play an 82-game schedule, but the breakdown of opponents has changed. Each team will play their divisional opponents six times (24 games in total), four games against each non-divisional conference opponent (40 games in total), one game against each of the 15 non-conference opponents and three "at large" games.
The Sabres will announce their season opening game and their three "at large" games on Wednesday at noon on sabres.com.
The club will also announce their preseason schedule on Thursday.
