All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
There is work to be done and things to be learned. We are going to try to get the old look back - or something close to it. We also know there are bugs. A thread will be started to report bugs and then we can pass those onto the host.
Thank you for all the patience and support with this - hopefully this will greatly reduce the crashes and other site issues we have had lately.
Please use this thread to report any issues you come across

Forked Thread: Is it just me? - Hardy - $4mil over 4 years?
Re: Forked Thread: Is it just me? - Hardy - $4mil over 4 years?
Chances are Hardy is going to be worth WAY more than a buck a year. So in two years when he holds out and we say no because he has 2 years left, we are in the same boat as everyone else.
Obviously I don't think he should be paid $10M and I do think he should earn his paycheck, it just seems like $1M per year is a joke nowadays.

he won't hold out...what possible leverage would he have??

Awww, poor hoofhearted. It would take me 20 years at my current salary to make a million dollars. I'm trying to eat less.
Team tend to push for longer contracts because with a short contract they can just about get a player trained to do what he's supposed to and do it well, and he bolts the team for a big paycheck elsewhere. Agents push for shorter contracts on the assumption that they can cash in if the player they represent becomes a star.

it is really only the top of the 1st round that makes sick money.. and the 1st round in general that gets contracts that hurt a team.. the second round on are always way reasonable and are typically the guys you can build your team around.

If he turns into a legitimate #2 and has two very nice seasons right out of the shoot, he does have some leverage to ask for a raise. Obviosuly, this is all depending on him playing super.
