TEMPE, Ariz. (April 23, 2003 9:07 a.m. EDT) - Terrell Suggs' poor workouts may turn into a blessing for the Arizona Cardinals.

The Arizona State defensive end, who set the NCAA record for sacks last season, could be staying in Tempe to begin his NFL career.

Chief among Arizona's many needs is a pass rusher, and with his unimpressive workouts for NFL scouts, Suggs may be available when the Cardinals make the No. 6 pick in Saturday's draft.

Of course, this is the time of year when truth is a rare commodity among professional football teams.

"Between now and draft day, anything you hear from a coach or a general manager is a lie," Cardinals coach Dave McGinnis said last week.
